There are three ways to win prizes. There’s a general raffle, a 90s costume/outfit contest, and a 90s trivia contest.Everyone who comes in for the event, can put in a ticket for the general raffle. If you buy a copy of the book at Barnes & Noble Beavercreek, you can put in an extra ticket. The bowl will be at the registers and labeled "Night of the Mallrats Raffle". Winner gets a $100.00 Barnes & Noble gift card! You must be there to claim your prize and show a government or student ID matching the name on your ticket. Ages 16+Booksellers will vote for the best 1990s outfit/costume. You will not have to sign up for this. They will keep track of their favorites and convene to decide on the best. The winner will be approached by a bookseller and then announced. Winner gets a $100.00 Barnes & Noble gift card!  This contest is for all ages.There will be a 90s trivia contest. After the author discussion, three volunteers will be chosen to compete in a short buzzer round of 1990s questions for a TBA prize.

AM I REQUIRED TO DRESS 1990S FOR THE EVENT?

No, you do not have to dress for the 90s to participate in this event. If you think you don’t have anything era appropriate, a flannel shirt works! Booksellers will vote on the best 1990s outfit/costume and that winner will receive a $100.00 Barnes & Noble gift card.

DO I HAVE TO BUY A COPY AT THE STORE TO GET IT SIGNED?

No, you can bring your previously purchased copy of NIGHT OF THE MALLRATS to the signing.Buying your copy at the event will give you an extra ticket in the raffle for a $100.00 Barnes & Noble gift card! You can pre-order by calling (937) 429-1660. You will get your raffle ticket at the time of purchase.

IS THE EVENT KID-FRIENDLY?

This is not an event for kids, but they are welcome. They may want to skip the author discussion as there could be references to scary books and movies.If your child dresses in 90s gear during the 2-4pm event, they will be eligible for the $100.00 outfit/costume prize.There is a 90s children's storytime earlier in the day.
